Our Newest Client: American Heart Association

We thrilled to announce our newest client: The American Heart Association!

We will be handling both their specialty meetings and their Annual Scientific Sessions.  We have already created service order forms for exhibitors here. And we just finished photography of their High Blood Pressure Research (HBPR) meeting in New Orleans.

Let us know if you have any special needs or projects for your exhibits at Scientific Sessions 2013 in Dallas. We will have a full range of photographyvideo & 360 degree capabilities on hand.

We have covered this meeting for various Japanese clients over the last 12 years and we have included a few of our archive shots from the meeting below.

We look forward to creating some great images for AHA and hope to see you there!

EOS 5D Markll - Game Changer?

After having time to take in the announcement of EOS 5D Mark ll, it seems to me this camera could have a much deeper impact on who we are as photographers and image creators. At first, I felt, "yeah, video...interesting but not that big a deal"...but the more I thought about what has been put in your hands, the more I saw the ability to sell myself as a multimedia image creator rather than just a photographer.

It will take time for this ability to yield the power of what has been presented by a sensor that is 4 to 5 times the size of any HD chip on the highest end digital video cameras, but the size and ease that you can shift from still photographer to video shooter is breathtaking.

Our advantage as still photographers has always been our lightweight small equipment that allows us to fit in to smaller spaces and be much more discreet. It is this advantage that I feel we can capitalize on. But the challenge for us will be to get comfortable with mobile/portable sound and when we need to get sticks (tripods) out and do it right...I think as any video pro will tell you, smooth video is key to good quality.

The best case for the capabilities of the camera, that should be out near the end of the month or early November, has got to be Vince Laforet's wonderful Reverie that he created with a pre-production model...just amazing. Check it out below:

EOS 5D MarkII - 21 MP and Video too!

Canon has finally launched the much anticipated EOS 5D Markll (Okay maybe I've been anticpating it) but it is pretty stunning weighing in at 21 MP and including 16:9 Full HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 fps as well as 4:3 standard TV quality (SD) video capture at 640 x 480 pixels and 30 fps.

I am on the road returning from Stockholm, so I have included some links to: The Canon Press Release, Rob Galbraith, DPReview for more information.

I will be interested in the wireless Grip WFT-E4 that can do a variety of transfers including FTP o direct to computer.

I also found this interesting:
Silent Shooting in Live View
Canon has equipped the EOS 5D Mark II with two Silent Shooting modes in Live View which will prove particularly helpful to law enforcement officials, and for behind-the-scenes shooting on movie sets. In Mode 1, the camera will shoot with the mechanical shutter open at the beginning of the exposure, using the electronic 1st-curtain function of the CMOS sensor and a reduced shutter-cocking noise, allowing multiple shots to be taken with minimal noise. In Mode 2, to minimize shutter noise during single frame photography, shutter cocking does not occur until the shutter button returns to the half-way position after shooting.
